Terms of service and refunds

These terms cover your use of the Valtaris website, web app and Chrome extension (together, “Valtaris”). By creating an account or paying for a plan you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Valtaris.

What Valtaris does

Valtaris exports public Reddit threads you choose and analyses them into findings, each linked to the comments it rests on.
Findings are produced with the help of language models. We check quotes against the original text and test whether the evidence supports each finding, but reports can still contain mistakes. Use them as research input, not as professional, legal or financial advice.

Your account

You need a valid email address and must keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
One person per account. Team plans, when offered, will have their own terms.

Acceptable use

Only analyse threads you can lawfully access, and follow Reddit’s own terms when you use content from it.
Use reports to understand groups of people, not to identify, track or profile individual Reddit users.
Don’t republish quotes in bulk, resell reports as a data feed, try to break or overload the service, or share your account to get around plan limits.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Plans, credits and billing

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel.
Plans include a number of analysis credits each month. A thread uses credits according to its number of comments, and the app shows the cost before you start. Monthly credits don’t roll over to the next month.
Credit packs are one-off purchases for Plus and Pro. Pack credits don’t expire while your account is open.
The first-month discount applies once per account.
We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period, and we’ll email you at least 14 days before.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account moves to the free plan.
Your reports stay available on the free plan.

Refunds

Failed analyses: if an analysis doesn’t finish, its credits are returned to your account automatically.
First payment: if you’re not happy, email us within 7 days of your first subscription payment and we’ll refund it in full, provided you’ve used no more than 3 analysis credits from it.
Credit packs: unused packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Packs you’ve started using are not refundable.
Otherwise we don’t give refunds or credits for partial months, unused credits or periods when you didn’t use Valtaris, except where the law requires it.

Your content and reports

Reports you generate are yours to use for your own work. Quotes in them remain the words of their Reddit authors; link to the original when you use one.
How we handle data is described in our privacy policy.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Valtaris running but don’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features.
Valtaris is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before it.

Changes and contact
