What a summary leaves out

Ask for a summary of that r/whoop thread and you get its loudest line: the top comment, at 163 points, says the Apple Watch battery “sucks compared to whoop”. Read every comment and the picture changes.

Who disagreesThree people push back with their own numbers, including the third-highest comment. A summary keeps the top line and drops the reply.
How many peopleFive different people make the complaint. One person replying ten times is counted once, so a loud voice can’t pass for a trend.
When it holdsClaims that apply to one model, plan or country are marked as such, and so are old or removed posts.

Questions it answers

For founders, product managers and marketers who found a thread full of their customers, or a competitor’s, and need what it actually says.

  • Is this complaint common, or a few loud people? Each finding shows how many different people said it.
  • What do people keep criticising about a competitor?Findings are ranked by how many people back them, with the quotes.
  • What words do customers use for the problem?Quotes are word for word, ready for your copy, FAQ or landing page.
  • Who disagrees, and why?The other side stays in the finding, with its own quotes.

What’s in a report

One report per thread, in English or Chinese. Quotes stay in the thread’s own words.

Questions

Which threads can it read?

Any public Reddit thread with comments, in any subreddit. The Valtaris Chrome extension reads it from your own browser, including the replies hidden behind “load more”.

How much does a report cost?

Your first report is free and covers the thread’s 200 most-upvoted comments. After that, 1 credit per 100 comments: a 300-comment thread uses 3. Plus includes 40 credits a month and Pro 150. See pricing.

How do you check the quotes?

Every quote in a report is matched word for word against the thread before it’s shown, and links to the comment it came from. See how we read a thread.

Can I combine several threads?

Yes. Pick two or more finished reports and ask one question across them; Valtaris writes a research topic that compares what each thread says. A topic uses 2 credits.

Are usernames shown?

No. Reports count people but don’t name them.

Can I get the report in Chinese?

Yes. Choose English or Chinese when you start. Quotes always stay in the thread’s own words.
